Michigan has tried career politicians. We have tried happy talk.
And, we were fiftieth out of fifty.

Dead last. Never. Again.

Detroit has become the most remarkable comeback city in the country.

13.  “In recent years, the city of Detroit, Michigan has earned the nickname “America’s Comeback City”—and rightfully so. Detroit’s unemployment rate dropped to 5.3 percent in 2016, down from a high of 19 percent. The poverty rate is now 13.4 percent, a full point below the national average. This transformation is proving that America’s industry cities can move forward and thrive as the economy evolves.” (Forbes, “America’s Comeback City – The Rebirth of Detroit”  7/2/2017 )

14.  “Detroit makes a comeback – Big Time!” (Fox News, 1/5/2018 )

Our government is now fiscally responsible.

State budgets are completed early.

We’re paying down our debt.

Our balance sheets add up without gimmicks.

16.  “That has been the hallmark of Snyder’s time in office: getting the budget done in June, well before the Oct. 1 start of the fiscal year; increasing the state’s rainy day fund, from a paltry $2 million in 2011 to nearly $888 million today, and paying down the state’s debt.” Detroit Free Press, “Snyder cautions lawmakers to be fiscally responsible before passing tax cut legislation”, 1/24/2018

17.  “Michigan is now seven for seven in completing balanced budgets on time and ahead of schedule.” (#7for7, Medium/ Office of Gov. Snyder, 7/14/2017)

Everywhere, a renewed sense of confidence and pride.

It was clearly time for a nerd!

Now, it’s time to accelerate and protect Michigan’s comeback

Keep a great thing going.

And, never be fiftieth out of fifty again.
